Legislation on defibrillators in nightclubs

 

The Spanish regulations on cardioprotection are described in the Royal Decree 365 / 2009March 20 and it establishes the conditions and minimum requirements of safety and quality on the use of automatic and semi-automatic external defibrillators outside the health field.

At the national level there is no direct regulation on cardioprotection that is applied in public spaces such as discos, entertainment halls or concerts. On the other hand, the legislation in competition of the Autonomous Communities does take into account the capacity of the venue to force cardioprotection.


The autonomous communities that have a law on cardioprotection of public spaces and other premises, are the following:

 

Madrid's community: Mandatory defibrillator in spaces with a capacity greater than 2000 people.

Catalonia: Mandatory defibrillator in spaces with a capacity greater than 5.000 people.

Andalusia: Mandatory defibrillator in spaces with a capacity greater than 5.000 people. 

Valencian Community: Mandatory defibrillator in spaces with a capacity greater than 1.000 people.

Euskadi: Mandatory defibrillator in spaces with a capacity greater than 700 people.

Canary Islands: Mandatory defibrillator in spaces with a capacity greater than 1.000 people. 

Asturias: Mandatory defibrillator in spaces with a capacity greater than 750 people.
