Training in CPR and use of defibrillator DEA

Currently, more than 135 millions of annual deaths due to cardiovascular causes are registered in the world and the trend is increasing. The incidence of out-of-hospital CPR in the world is between 20 and 140 per 100.000 persons and survival varies between 2 and 11%.

In Spain, extra-hospital cardiac arrests are a major problem for public health, and it is estimated that more than 24.500 PCR (cardiorespiratory arrest) is produced each year, which is equivalent to an average of one cardiac arrest every 20 minutes. The 60% of these cardiac arrests occur in the presence of witnesses. A review that included extra hospital 142.740 PCR data attended during a period of 30 years, verified that if the witnesses started CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) maneuvers, the chances of surviving the event could increase up to 5 times, in fact, for each minute of delay in the start of the CPR maneuvers, the chances of survival of cardiac arrest victims decrease between 8 and 10%.

We should make a special section for Peter Safar, a pioneer in teaching CPR maneuvers. Peter Safar was an Austrian doctor who, together with James Elam, developed the method of mouth-mouth breathing in 1950 and a few years later would combine it with the thoracic compression technique and thereby create the first-aid method of cardiac stimulation and pulmonary as we know it today, having a great weight in the parameters of brain death. They also managed to demonstrate in 1978 effectively the acquisition of basic CPR skills in young people between 15 and 16 years. They also showed that children between 10 and 12 years were able to perform such maneuvers correctly in an 100% of cases using the correct techniques with the help of a mannequin.

Practical training in CPR and use of defibrillator with manikin and defibrillator

Our courses are taught by our human team of formation of the Lifeguard Project, these courses in CPR and defibrillator use in schools, companies or entities, have modern teaching material so that practical classes meet the main objective, which is none other than the learning of the sequence and the maneuvers of cardiopulmonary resuscitation Basic / advanced CPR.

Our mannequins are the latest generation in the practice of CPR maneuvers

Today we can see several models of manikins to practice CPR maneuvers with retro feed, which consists of optimizing the performance of the CPR by providing real-time information on the essential parameters of the CPR, which indicate whether the rhythm and depth of the compressions are good and effective.

In Proyecto Salvavidas we work with intelligent dummies and with devices that help to know if compression-decompression is good, it is called SKILL GUIDE, which is a light portable device, of a small size that provides information immediately so that the personnel to train can improve their chest compression. These devices are linked to a CPR practices manikin which will give us access to the following points:

  1. Frequency and depth of compression.
  2. Correct release of compression.
  3. Correct position of the hands.
  4. A proper insufflation.
  5. Amount of compressions and ventilations.
  6. Blind mode (used for exams in practical cases).


All the case studies can be registered in order to make a review of how the CPR has been executed.

The SKILL GUIDE is associated with the new mannequin LITTLE ANNE QCPR, is the most used mannequin in our formations and is causing a furor among our students.

LITTLE ANNE QCPR is an intelligent mannequin that communicates by Bluetooth with feedback technology that helps staff to form and at the same time to students to get a correct CPR technique according to the recommendations of the European Resuscitation Council. This dummy is compliant both in the ERC Guide and the AHA, which through a simple change you can put the guide that each training requires.

Virtual reality for CPR training and the use of automatic defibrillators

Nowadays it is possible to carry out the iexchange of information through virtual reality applied to the CPR and defibrillators.

The virtual reality in CPR allows you to live a fully virtual experience, in which the student is the protagonist of a rescue to a person who has a cardiac arrest. With the support of virtual reality, you will perform CPR and help you experience in a very real way a situation that may arise in our lives.
