Defibrillator Zoll AED 3
Manufacturer: Zoll Model: AED 3 € Defibrillator price and characteristics: US manufacturer number 1 in automatic external defibrillators (AEDs), the latest generation of defibrillators with CPR assistance. Price subsidized by the Lifeguard Project.
The ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator is an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) designed for use in adults and children who are victims of sudden cardiac arrest. The AED emits auditory and visual cues to guide the rescuer throughout the resuscitation sequence, which may include defibrillation or cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
The ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator features an LCD touch screen and uses removable defibrillation pads. The defibrillation patches include a smart CPR sensor that allows the defibrillator to monitor chest compressions and provide feedback during CPR.
Zoll AED3 Defibrillator Features
The Zoll AED 3 defibrillator can operate in automatic or semi-automatic mode DEA and DESA
Semi-automatic mode. It includes indications and graphics for non-professional resuscitators and Real CPR Help® technology that allows to monitor the CPR and provide feedback.
Automatic mode: Works in fully automatic mode. Includes prompts and charts for lay rescuer and Real CPR Help technology to monitor CPR and provide feedback.
BLS mode: Works in semi-automatic mode. It includes Real CPR Help technology for CPR monitoring and feedback, an optional display to view the patient's electrocardiogram (ECG), a CPR dashboard, optional graphics for occasional resuscitators, and an audio recording option.
When the rescuer places the defibrillation patches on the patient's chest, the AED monitors and analyzes the ECG rhythm of the patient's heart to determine if the ECG rhythm is defibrillatable or not. If the AED detects a shockable rhythm, it issues instructions to release the shock (semi-automatic) or releases the discharge automatically (fully automatic). The ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator instructs the rescuer to perform CPR for a defined period (set by the AED administrator); then, the AED starts a new ECG analysis automatically.
Defibrillator in pediatric mode
The ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator includes a pediatric mode that can be activated in two ways: when the rescuer uses the ZOLL Uni-padz® CPR defibrillation pads and presses the pediatric select button, or when the rescuer uses the Pedi defibrillation pads -padz® II by ZOLL. In this mode, the DEA uses the configured pediatric energy parameters, which are lower energy doses than those used with adults.
The ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator also uses an algorithm for pediatric AED analysis, which is specifically designed for a child's ECG. This algorithm can accurately distinguish between pediatric rhythms that can receive shock and those that cannot receive shock.
The clinical data collected during the resuscitation of the patient are stored in the memory of the defibrillator for further analysis
The ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator automatically stores the patient's clinical data and device history. You can access this data and transfer it to a remote device (such as a computer) using a USB memory stick or a wireless access point. The DEA stores data on the patient's clinical events, along with date and time notation.
You can view and analyze this information with ZOLL's RescueNet Code Review or RescueNet Case Review software, via the ZOLL Online website. You can also transfer information to the DEA, such as a software update file or a configuration file, with a USB memory stick.
This feature allows you to update the software or copy a configuration to multiple DEAs quickly and easily. To transfer data, the ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator must be in DEA management mode.
To access DEA management mode, press and hold the on / off button for at least 5 seconds, and then press the device settings icon that appears on the main screen. While the DEA is in management mode, you can export data to a USB flash drive or via a wireless access point at any time.
The ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator performs an automatic functional verification during its periodic autoanalysis. You can also perform some basic maintenance tests in the AED. This section of the guide contains information about the functions that are carried out with each self-analysis, as well as the procedures to maintain the ZOLL AED 3 device. Self-analysis
The ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator performs the following self-tests to verify its integrity and availability for use in case of emergency:
automatic (daily or weekly, depending on configuration)
Demonstration video of how to use a Zoll AED 3 defibrillator in a sudden death situation
Use of the ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator
Use the ZOLL AED 3 defibrillator when the victim of a possible cardiac arrest has an apparent lack of circulation manifested by ALL of the following symptoms:
absence of normal breathing
absence of pulse or circulation signs
Call for help, pick up the defibrillator and bring it to the patient's side. Follow the basic steps to treat the suspected cardiac arrest patient.
1. Press the On / Off button to turn on the defibrillator and follow the voice prompts.
2. Press the Child Selection button (only if the patient is a child and you are using the CPR Unipadz patches).
3. Place the defibrillation patches on the patient (follow the voice prompts of the defibrillator).
4. Administer a discharge to the patient if you are instructed to do so.
5. Start the CPR
