Immediate life support course | First aid

Directed to doctors and nurses and taught by SVI Instructors of the PNRCP, according to the latest CPR recommendations of the ERC, approved by the SEMICYUC PNRCP (member of the CERCP) and accredited by the CFC.


Description of the immediate life support course

Course addressed to doctors and nurses, of a mixed nature, with a face-to-face component, according to the latest recommendations of the ERC, approved by the SEMICYUC PNRCP and accredited by the continuing education commission, with 4,8 CFC, to health professionals currently they are not in training period.


Equivalent to 23 teaching hours. 3 begins weeks before the face-to-face, through progressive learning, the contents of the SRI Manual of the PNRCP and the performance of different evaluations, on the MOODLE platform. It is necessary to overcome this phase, to access face-to-face training.


Course of 8 hours of duration, in the form of practical theoretical workshops where the knowledge and skills acquired in the ONLINE phase will be consolidated.

Methodology of the SEMICYUC PNRCP.

Small groups in practical workshops (maximum 1 instructor / 8 students).



That the student acquires knowledge, skills and attitudes sufficient to be able to recognize early the patient that is deteriorating and act immediately applying Life Support techniques before the arrival of more experienced personnel, according to the standards of the European committees and the national RCP plan of the SEMICYUC.

Decrease the mortality of hospital cardiac arrest and its sequelae.
Disseminate life support techniques among the first interveners.
Improve early defibrillation strategies.
Identify early, potentially serious patients and prevent cardiac arrest.
Prepare the health professional to be part of the resuscitation team.



Students at the end of this training must be able to:

Understand the human role in resuscitation and use structured communication tools.
From the early recognition of the critical patient, using the ABCDE approach (Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Disability and Exposure).
Use the Alert Criteria for emergency medical teams.
Apply high quality CPR.
Recognize and treat airway obstruction.
Perform different techniques for airway management in resuscitation.
Instrumental opening of airway.
Ventilation with mask and resuscitator balloon.
Supraglottic devices.
Recognize defibrillable and non-defibrillable rhythms and use an automatic or manual defibrillator early.
Know when and how to give medication in cardiac arrest.
Apply the post-resuscitation care and carry out the transfer of the patient.
