The 12 of September of 2018 enters into force the decree that requires the installation of defibrillators in many public spaces, companies, educational centers of MADRID.

It is shown that acting in the first three minutes of cardiac arrest increases the life expectancy in an 90% of the victim and decreases the subsequent neurological damage. 

Most of these events occur in public places, in the home, recreational, sports centers, workplaces and airports, for this reason in Spain the initiative is being taken to create a decree that regulates the use of Defibrillators in public facilities such as the courts of Madrid, as a cardiprotection measure for the collective.

The European Union establishes laws that require the use of defibrillators in non-sanitary places, Spain currently has a regulation, the Royal Decree 365-2009, which authorizes each community to legislate on the placement of Defibrillators in public facilities such as the courts of Madrid, sports centers, airports and schools, as well as the norm for their use, this decree establishes the obligation to carry out CPR and DESA courses, to regulate and guarantee the proper use of defibrillators.

Defibrillators are used when the heart fibrillates, presenting a shockable rhythm.
