Ikea Zaragoza employees receive training in basic life support

 Ikea Zaragoza joins in the fight against sudden death and trains its workers in Basic Life Support (BLS) and the use of the DEA defibrillator.

Lifeguard Project has trained four Ikea workers in the handling of semi-automatic external defibrillators, in order to guarantee immediate assistance in the event of a possible heart attack that may occur at its facilities.

The objective of this face-to-face course on basic life support and use of the DEA defibrillator for companies and entities, is to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to perform a first care of cardiac arrest until the arrival of specialized medical teams.

Our trainer explained to the workers how to use this type of defibrillator equipment, which are devices that deliver an electric shock to victims of sudden cardiac arrest. They are suitable for use by people outside the healthcare world.

More than 30.000 people die a year in Spain from heart problems. The need for workers to have some kind of training against sudden death is important both on a personal and business level. 

Many people are not aware of the need to have advanced notions in basic life support, the implication of not having workers who can help a colleague in emergency situations can be catastrophic for the company.
