We collaborate with the NGO Bierzo Sur in São Tomé and Principe
In September 2016, the NGO Bierzo Sur carried out a training project, among many others they carry out, called “TRAINING IN THE USE OF AN EXTERNAL SEMIAUTOMATIC DEFIBRILLATOR”, lasting 8 hours, given by Carmen Álvarez Vilas at the Ayres de Menezes Hospital of São Tomé and Príncipe and in which we had the pleasure of collaborating.

Ayres de Menezes Hospital of São Tomé and Príncipe
Immediate defibrillation, as soon as an AED is available, is a key element, and is considered of paramount importance in surviving cardiac arrest due to ventricular fibrillation. However, a period of chest compressions before defibrillation while the defibrillator is with the victim, can improve survival Know the different rhythms of cardiac arrest Objective 2: Know the use of the Semi-Automatic External Defibrillator
A total of 108 health and emergency service professionals have received training for the correct use of an AED: 42 firefighters, 37 nurses from the emergency service and surgical block of the Ayres del Menezes Hospital, 2 anesthetists from the same hospital and 26 final year nursing students.
The methodology proposed for the development of the various contents is based on the active role that the participant has to play in the search and assimilation of concepts through participatory and practical work supervised at all times by the trainer.
Theoretical part: 60 minutes / Practical part: 180 minutes
