The Ascao Municipal Day Center in Madrid, today, has received training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and use of the DEA defibrillator.
All the employees of the center in charge of the care and attention of the elderly have received such practical training in CPR maneuvers and the use of the defibrillator, thus making their facilities safer.
That center employees receive such resuscitation training is essential. In places where a large number of older people are concentrated, the risk of someone suffering a cardiac arrest or heart attack increases.
For the workers of the center it is essential to know how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers if they are faced with an episode of sudden death. a cardiac arrest.
Installation of defibrillators and training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation
In Proyecto Salvavidas, in addition to saving lives, we give life as gifts. Thanks to the ASSOCIATION PLANTAMOS TREES we have been able to give the Ascao Municipal Day Center, several chestnut trees from India so that the elderly of the center can plant them in their outdoor facilities and gardens.
To continue reducing death rates after cardiac arrest, the installation of defibrillators is not enough. It is illogical to have a defibrillator and not know how to use it correctly, or of equal or greater importance, to continue providing the population with basic life support training.
Much training is still needed in CPR cardiorespiratory resuscitation in schools, universities, companies and individuals. It is vitally important that the first person to intervene in such a situation is trained.
