A cardiac rescue point for the Barrio de la Latina in Madrid

El Market of the Barley incorporates a defibrillator and trains his staff in resuscitation by participating in the Lifeguard Project.

This Friday 5 of December has presented the campaign and the defibrillator in the Market of the Barley and delivered the cards of use of the defibrillator.

One of the most emblematic places of the city becomes a Cardioprotected space thanks to participate in the Lifesaving Project, solidarity campaign of cardioprotection.

Every year, more than 30.000 people die of cardiac arrest outside of hospitals, many of them in places where sports are practiced. The Lifeguard Project (www.salvavidas.eu) is a social initiative whose purpose is to disseminate the knowledge of resuscitation techniques among non-health personnel and the dissemination and distribution of semi-automatic defibrillators that are obtained in a subsidized way through the project or through their social campaigns of Life-saving Bracelets and Cardiovending. Due to the importance of Cardioprotection, the MARKET OF BARLEY is participating in the Project with the sale of solidarity life-saving bracelets for only 1 Euro in the different market stalls, a solidarity campaign that serves to amortize the cost of the installation and the training for the use of the defibrillator taught by the instructors of the Project itself.

Thus the Market of the Barley will act as a point of cardiac rescue in the area, not only having a defibrillator of last generation, but also, having trained personnel and is that thanks to this campaign the Market of the Barley becomes a Cardioprotected Space Certified by the Spanish Society of Medicine SEMST. The Lifeguard Project has already created more than 1.500 Cardioprotected spaces in Spain through its social campaigns selling life-saving bracelets focused mainly on Educational Centers, Sports Clubs, Cinemas, Clubs, Markets ... and Cardiovending, a system through which City Councils and Companies obtain the defibrillator, the training and the maintenance without any cost, thanks to the services of the vending machines that they currently have installed. Other entities that can not participate in the Project opt ​​for rent or subsidized purchase or mixed campaigns.
